For one of our clients in the Hospitality Industry in Aruba, we’re looking for a
The cost controller oversees the outlets of the company’s cost control processes, stock controls and inventories, revenue and store room operations, ensures that the day F&B revenue are recorded accurately, maximizes profitability through the use of controls and produces management reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. He/She is fully responsible for the proper cost control processes of purchasing, receiving, storage, issuing, production, sales, inventories and general controls that should be an integral part of the operation’s control system.
Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
To oversee all purchases and tracking of invoices and related food and beverage expenses and compare data to standards
Determine selling prices for F&B menu items;
Responsible to implement, maintain and monitor a price analysis process, a purchasing process and a receiving process;
Prepare weekly F&B analysis and cost reports;
Compiles and computes amounts and costs of food and beverage sold in bars or restaurant;
Compute profit or loss on each item of food and beverage sold in the bars or restaurant;
Perform work according to HACCP standards;
Discuss any items / issues for improvement and discrepancies found with the Management.
MBO education or higher;
2-3 years relevant experience;
Prior experience in the hospitality sector;
Prior experience as a cost controller or supervisor;
Must be familiar with HACCP rules and regulations;
Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills.;
Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision;
Strong problem solving skills and excellent communicator;
A familiarity with the methods and procedures applied in cost control areas;
The ability to understand and follow simple verbal or written directions;
Fluent in English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento.
