Claims Consultant

We are looking for a skilled Claims Consultant with a legal background and commercial skills to ensure the fair and efficient resolution of insurance claims.

Job Description

The claims consultant is responsible to:

  • evaluate and process insurance claims, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • investigate and gather relevant information to assess the validity of claims, including reviewing policy documents, conducting interviews, and consulting legal resources as necessary.
  • provide expert guidance and advice to claimants throughout the claims process, explaining their rights, coverage, and potential outcomes.
  • collaborate with internal teams, external legal counsel, and other stakeholders to resolve complex or disputed claims efficiently and effectively.
  • analyze claim-related legal issues and assess potential liability, engaging in negotiations and settlements when required.
  • ensure timely payment of claims.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field OR MBO degree in accounting or finance with at least 2 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of insurance policies, contract law, and claims handling procedures is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret legal documents and complex information.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-centric approach to handling claims.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and critical reasoning skills.
