We are looking for a skilled Claims Consultant with a legal background and commercial skills to ensure the fair and efficient resolution of insurance claims.
Job Description
The claims consultant is responsible to:
- evaluate and process insurance claims, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- investigate and gather relevant information to assess the validity of claims, including reviewing policy documents, conducting interviews, and consulting legal resources as necessary.
- provide expert guidance and advice to claimants throughout the claims process, explaining their rights, coverage, and potential outcomes.
- collaborate with internal teams, external legal counsel, and other stakeholders to resolve complex or disputed claims efficiently and effectively.
- analyze claim-related legal issues and assess potential liability, engaging in negotiations and settlements when required.
- ensure timely payment of claims.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field OR MBO degree in accounting or finance with at least 2 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, contract law, and claims handling procedures is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret legal documents and complex information.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-centric approach to handling claims.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, organized and critical reasoning skills.
