For a modern and growing retail company, with business activities on the ABC islands, we are searching for candidates to fill the newly created position of

RETAIL MANAGER (Location: Aruba)

In this position you will be responsible for the daily retail operations of the stores in Aruba and assist with assignments in Curacao and Bonaire. This position has a large degree of freedom in scheduling and prioritizing the day to day work. You will report to the Managing Director and supervise all retail staff. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a quality level of service in the stores, guiding and supervising store supervisors, coaching, motivating all retail staff (divided over three stores);
  • Ensuring ample inventory levels in the stores, reporting shortages/overages to Management and plan actions accordingly;
  • Conducting staff meetings, training sessions and presentations on quality of service, client feedback scores, commission structures, new products and retail strategies;
  • Ensuring that all retail procedures are documented and readily available to the retail staff;
  • Visiting stores in Curacao and Bonaire (on average once a month) to guide staff and inspect compliance with company rules and regulations;
  • Assisting the Managing Director with retail strategies, plans and budgets.


  • A minimum of completed and relevant Associate’s Level (but preferably a Bachelor’s Level) of education;
  • Several years of successful experience in a retail supervisory position;
  • Entrepreneurial thinker with a clear passion for sales, client service and helping retail staff develop sales and service skills;
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in Papiamento, Spanish and English;
  • Proven teambuilder with insight in effective leadership and management styles;
  • Good writing skills in English and Dutch;
  • Good time management and organizational skills, accurate, neat;
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office) with mindset to process business information digitally;
  • Valid driver’s license B and use of own car (car allowance applies);
  • Ability to travel.
