Director

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic Director to lead a foundation dedicated to developing and implementing educational programs aimed at enhancing the quality of service and guest experience on the island.

Job Description

The Director will drive the strategic vision of the foundation, ensuring that its programs and initiatives continuously improve service quality across the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, able to collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure the foundation’s financial health while advancing its mission of service excellence.

The Director:

  • Leads the development and implementation of the foundations strategic plan.
  • Communicates regularly with the Board on all matters impacting the foundation, ensuring they have the necessary information to fulfill their duties.
  • Drive the creation and implementation of educational programs and objectives that address the needs of stakeholders, including hospitality professionals and businesses in Aruba.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities to expand the reach and impact of the foundation’s programs.
  • Continuously assess and improve operational, training, and marketing strategies to ensure efficiency and relevance in enhancing guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Board to establish and maintain a strong People Management strategy.
  • Oversee human resources administration, ensuring that recruitment, training, and talent management align with the foundation’s goals.
  • Oversee financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing, ensuring transparent and accurate financial oversight.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson and representative of the foundation, building strong relationships with external stakeholders such as hospitality businesses, media, government bodies, and the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, communications, or related field.
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in a similar position, proven track record in developing and executing business strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills. Able to drive change.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and financial planning.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills. Able to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and results oriented.
  • Passion for community engagement, with a focus on advocating for service excellence on the island.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software with Advanced Excel Skills.
