Director of Learning & Development

We are looking for a Director of Learning & Development to lead an organization focused on creating and running training programs that help improve service quality and guest experiences on the island.

Job Description

The Director of Learning & Development will lead the organization’s training programs and day-to-day activities, with a focus on bringing fresh ideas and driving business growth. The role requires a strong leader who can work closely with the Board, manage staff, and develop practical training solutions for the hospitality industry. The Director will play a key role in creating new opportunities, improving services, and building strong relationships with local businesses.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and carry out a clear plan for the organization’s training programs, focusing on practical, effective solutions that meet the needs of the hospitality industry.
  • Keep the Board of Directors informed about key activities, updates, and challenges.
  • Design and implement training and development programs that address the needs of hospitality professionals and businesses in Aruba.
  • Look for new business opportunities and partnerships that can help expand the reach and impact of the organization’s programs.
  • Regularly review and improve the organization’s training and marketing efforts.
  • Oversee the budget, financial reporting, and audits to make sure the organization’s finances are well-managed and transparent.
  • Act as the main representative of the organization, working closely with local businesses, media, government, and the public to promote training programs and share the organization’s mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, communications, or related field.
  • Min. 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in Learning & Development or training management, with a focus on creating practical and effective programs.
  • Strong skills in business development, planning, and working with different groups of people.
  • Ability to lead a team and manage daily operations effectively.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
