The Sr. Finance Officer ensures accurate, timely, and reliable financial administration and reporting across multiple complex financial domains. This role supports financial integrity, compliance, and informed decision-making through strong expertise, analysis, and collaboration.
Job Description
- Prepare and review financial statements in line with internal and regulatory requirements
- Deliver accurate and timely reporting for regulators, auditors, and management
- Perform and oversee balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations
- Monitor, review, and analyze AP & AR activities, focusing on cost control, accuracy, and providing financial advice
- Process and validate journal entries and system postings
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Manage and control complex financial domains such as fixed assets, investments, mortgages, pensions, and payroll
- Prepare detailed calculations, reserves, provisions, and technical financial results
- Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and controls
- Actively follow up on open items, challenge assumptions, and ensure timely resolution of issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial administration
- Strong knowledge of general ledger and subsidiary accounting
- Experience with financial systems (GL, AR/AP, Cash Management, Fixed Assets)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch (verbal and written), and basic Spanish
- Calm, steady, and composed personality with an accurate, independent, stress-resistant, and collaborative mindset
- Proactive in follow-ups and capable of working effectively within an experienced and outspoken team
