Job Description
The Legal Counsel:
- Provides expert legal advice to management and staff on a variety of legal issues, including regulatory compliance, contracts, and employment law.
- Ensures the organization’s operations comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Stays updated on changes in applicable laws and advises on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Assists in the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and to mitigate risks.
- Identifies potential legal risks and develops strategies to mitigate them. Provides proactive legal solutions to prevent issues before they arise.
- Provides advice on maintaining a balance between quality and safety within the organization.
- Works collaboratively with other legal counsels, compliant mediators, privacy officers and HR personnel.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in law with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a legal role, preferably within a highly regulated setting.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proactive, accurate, and able to adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Excellent written communication skills in Dutch, English, and Papiamento.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
