Aruba Conservation Foundation is looking for a highly organized and proactive Conservation Operations Manager with a strong understanding of conservation policies, field operations, and ecosystem management. The ideal candidate will have exceptional managerial skills to oversee conservation initiatives, optimize operational processes, and ensure compliance with best practices in nature conservation.
Job Description
As the Conservation Operations Manager you will:
- Work with the Executive Board to create and refine conservation strategies, policies, and compliance tools.
- Monitor conservation programs, assess progress, and recommend improvements.
- Establish and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for conservation activities.
- Lead the Terrestrial and Marine Conservation Operations, ensuring effective planning and execution.
- Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare detailed reports on conservation initiatives for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Conservation Management, Sustainability or a related field.
- Min. 5 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role, experience in overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and executing complex conservation programs and projects, ideally within park or protected area contexts.
- In-depth understanding of local and regional ecosystems, species, and conservation challenges.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and best practices in conservation management.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Passion for nature and a deep commitment to conservation and sustainable practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with staff, partners and guests.
