Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic leader to develop and monitor divisional goals and strategies, aligning them with the business objectives. The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance, while providing leadership, coaching, and performance management to foster continuous development. The ideal candidate will promote collaboration and teamwork and take responsibility for driving and enhancing the division’s performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, ensuring its integration into the organization’s risk management framework and providing guidance on risk management practices.
  • Managing the organization’s business continuity plan, ensuring preparedness through regular testing, training, and personnel guidance, as well as overseeing crisis management efforts.
  • Ensuring legal compliance with all relevant regulations, international standards, and internal group policies.
  • Leading credit risk management, optimizing risk-adjusted returns by maintaining risk exposure within acceptable limits across portfolios and individual transactions.
  • Conducting first-line cyber security and physical security risk management to protect organizational assets.
  • Co-developing effective risk policy frameworks that align with organizational goals and risk tolerance.
  • Performing analysis and reporting on industry trends and peer groups to understand key drivers and their impact on the organization’s portfolios.
  • Developing workout strategies to mitigate losses and ensure optimal recovery of assets in terms of both time and resources.
  • Managing complex workout loans and regularly reviewing the portfolio to recommend charge-offs as necessary.
  • Ensuring that AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism) policies are implemented and maintained in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Conducting organization-wide AML/CFT risk assessments and providing guidance to the management board on engaging with high-risk clients.
  • Monitoring the implementation of AML/CFT policies and procedures for regulatory compliance and report suspicious activities to relevant authorities as part of the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) function.
  • Manage and lead a team by providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure their success and development.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, to effectively collaborate on projects and initiatives.
  • Proactively identify and address stakeholder needs and concerns, ensuring their satisfaction and alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Min. BSc. degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Min. 8 years’ relevant experience, preferably within the financial services sector, with at least 5 years’ experience in a management role.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of guiding teams toward achieving organizational objectives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations and policies impacting the financial services industry.
  • Proven experience in enterprise risk management, credit risk management and cyber security management, particularly in a banking environment.
  • Experience managing complex special assets portfolios, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge, skills and experience of AML/CFT frameworks, including the implementation of compliance policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to navigate and influence within a complex organizational environment.
  • A focus on achieving measurable outcomes and driving business success.
