The Cost Control & Purchasing Specialist is responsible for controlling food and beverage costs while managing purchasing activities to support efficient hotel or restaurant operations. The role focuses on inventory accuracy, supplier management, cost optimization, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company procedures to maximize profitability.

The Cost Control & Purchasing Specialist is responsible for:

  • Monitoring food and beverage costs and investigate variances.
  • Conducting inventory counts and reconcile stock discrepancies.
  • Preparing cost control and profitability reports.
  • Reviewing menu costing, recipes, and portion control.
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Preparing purchase orders and verify deliveries.
  • Monitoring inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstocking.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial audits.
  • Recommending cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with purchasing and inventory procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
  • Min 3 years of experience in F&B cost control and purchasing.
  • Experience within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/POS systems.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across departments.
