This role is at the heart of the organization, driving strategy, building strong relationships with government and industry partners and supporting the Board.
  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to the organization in alignment with its mission and goals.
  • Develop short- and long-term strategies, policies, and plans for Board approval, including analysis of legislation impacting business and community interests.
  • Advise and support the Board in implementing strategic initiatives, policies, and organizational priorities.
  • Oversee the implementation of the strategic plan and support the effective functioning of Board and committee operations.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Treasurer, including financial monitoring, reporting, and audit coordination.
  • Ensure sound financial management by reviewing financial reports, overseeing expenditures, and supporting financial oversight processes.
  • Represent the organization in engagements with government, business organizations, unions, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead public relations efforts, including media engagement, stakeholder communication, and public representation of the organization.
  • Implement membership and marketing initiatives focused on growth, retention, engagement, and communication.
  • Oversee daily operations, including staff supervision, recruitment, performance management, and organizational administration.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Economics, Law, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a comparable leadership position.
  • Experience managing and coordinating projects.
  • Demonstrated political neutrality and sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-term organizational goals.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch, Papiamento and Spanish.
  • Strong negotiation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with flexibility to work outside regular office hours when required.
